Lily Mills
Lily is a core surgical trainee in Taunton. Having been involved in the conference last year, she is looking forward to creating an even more exciting and educational event this year.

Tom Thorne
Tom is a core surgical trainee in Bath. He has experience in organising conferences for early careers doctors and medical students and is looking forward to bringing QISW back to in-person.

Emily Shaw
Emily is a core surgical trainee in Brighton. She is involved in and enjoys teaching medical students and doctors and is looking forward to organising engaging talks for the conference.

Abstract Lead
Benedict Mallucci
Ben is an educational fellow in Merseyside. Having been involved in plenty of teaching, he is very excited to read everyone’s abstract submissions and learn what the South West has produced in terms of QI/audit projects.

Mahwar Khanum
Maz is an FY1 in Bath. She is passionate about pursuing a career in Surgery and keen to promote research, audit and quality improvement at QISW 2026.

Patrick Robinson
Paddy has co-run the paediatric peer-led clinicals revision course for the South West and brings his enthusiasm for quality improvement to this national conference. He works as a core paediatric trainee in Bath.

Judges Lead
Woohyun Kang
Woo is an FY2 in Southmead and will be coordinating the judging process for this year’s conference. She is looking forward to helping presenters showcase inspiring QI and audit projects while ensuring they receive valuable feedback from judges.

Jonathan Chappell
Jonny is currently a final year medical student in Bristol and is about to start his FY1 year in Ayr. He has an interest in surgery and academia and is looking forward to hearing about the amazing research going on in the South West and beyond!

Lily is a core surgical trainee working in Newcastle. She looks forward to promoting the conference, as well as connecting with people and sharing ideas at this year’s in person event.

Amber is a Core Surgical trainee in Taunton with a focus on General Surgery. She has experience in event planning and presenting at international conferences, and is looking forward to supporting the team in creating a sociable and educational conference experience.
