The Leeds Parkinson's QI Collective
Taking a QIP Nationwide
The Leeds Parkinson's QI collaborative formed as a response to concerns regarding Parkinsons care which were raised by Jane, the a wife of a patient with Parkinson's. As a result the Leeds Parkinsons QI Collaborative formed which included multi professional healthcare staff as well as Jane who remains a core member and will be presenting today. They set an initial aim of achieving timely Parkinsons medication administration and have had far reaching successes.
Nici Harrison
Founder of The Grief Space
Nici Harrison is founder of The Grief Space, offering individual sessions, group grief circles, retreats, and workshops. Nici’s intention is to remember the lost art of grief tending, and to create a space where grief can be deeply acknowledged, witnessed and welcomed. She believes that, in time, grief brings us closer to the raw and vulnerable wonder of being alive. We emerge with the capacity to hold it all - love and loss, grief and gratitude, life and death. Nici’s heart’s path is to share all that she has learned about nurturing a reverence for grief as a way to heal and love more fully.
Dr Lucy Pollock
Author of The Book About Getting Older
Lucy read medicine at Cambridge University and St Bartholomew’s Hospital and trained in general and geriatric medicine in London before taking up a consultant post in Taunton in 2001. She wrote ‘The Book About Getting Older’ for her patients and their families, but it seems to chime with medics and associated professions too. Sandi Toksvig says it’s ‘The most important book about the second half of your life you'll ever read’; Ed Balls calls it ‘a lovely thoughtful caring and informative book which will help very many people’ and Prof Andrew Goddard, President of the Royal College of Physicians, recommends it to ‘all medical students and doctors of any age’ as well as the general public.
